I’m quite fond of Christmas as you probably know by now.. pair it together with snacks and parties and you get the perfect combination. Throwing a party yourself this festive season ? I’m here to help you with a few very easy and delicious snacks to serve to your guests. This is the sweet edition but no worries I got savoury snacks and lots more food posts coming up so there is something for everybody. These recipes are quick so you don’t have to be in the kitchen all day but enjoy being with your friends and family.
Lets give it up for the Pinterest party club.
The Grinch popcorn
- 1 bag of popcorn, sweet or salty
- White melted chocolate
- Red food colouring
- Red & Green M&M’s
- Pretzels (optional)
Put a bag of popcorn into the microwave and serve in a bowl.
Melt some white chocolate in a double boiler or microwave. When melted put in the red food colouring and drizzle over the popcorn.
Add the M&M’s & pretzels and taddaa!
Quick side note: in most recipes you can find online it says to coat the popcorn in melted marsmallows but as I couldn’t find vegetarian marmallows I wanted to do it this way. It makes my take on this one healthier as well.
- Chocolate biscuits
- Red M&M’s
- Melted milk/dark chocolate
Take the chocolate biscuits (or anything else you want to use as a base) –
Melt some milk or dark chocolate in a double boiler or microwave. Then drizzle it on the chocolate biscuits.
Break a pretzel in half and put it on each side of the biscuits and add the red M&M in the middle.
Let it dry. Be patient for this one as it is possible to become one big mess.
- 3-5 apples
- White chocolate
- Milk chocolate
- Dark chocolate
Cut the apple into the size of pieces you desire.
Melt white, milk and dark chocolate in a double boiler or microwave.
Drizzle all three of the choclates over the apple and put it in the fridge to set.
Cinnamon candied almonds
- 1 lb Almonds, whole raw
- 1/2 cup Brown sugar, light packed
- 1 tsp Cinnamon, ground
- 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
- 3/4 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Ginger, ground
- 1 Egg white
- 2 tsp Vanilla bean paste
Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with foil and spray lightly with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
To a small mixing bowl, add both sugars, cinnamon, salt and ginger and stir to combine. Set aside.
Add egg white to a larger mixing bowl and beat with hand mixer until frothy. Add vanilla bean paste and beat again to combine. This can be done with a whisk, but will take longer.
Add almonds to bowl with the egg whites and stir to combine. Add sugar mixture and stir again to combine.
Spread almonds out in a single, even layer on prepared baking sheet. Bake for 1 hour, stirring almonds every 15 minutes.
After almonds have baked an hour, taste one almond to check for desired crispiness. Adjust baking time per your tastes.
Let almonds cool, uncovered.
Nuts can be served warm or at room temperature. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 weeks.
- 3-5 tangerines
- Melted white, milk and dark chocolate
Melt all of the chocolates into a seperate bowl in the microwave or a double boiler.
Dip pieces of the tangerine into the dark chocolate and put on a baking tray.
Drizzle the white and milk chocolate on top and put in the fridge to set.
- White chocolate (melted)
- Blue crystal sugar
Melt the white chocalte into a double boiler or microwave.
Dip the pretzels in the white chocolate and cover them in the blue cristal sugar. – Your pretzels are ready, it’s that easy.
With all of these snacks your party would sure be a big success! Which one was your favourite ? The pretzels with blue sugar are just gorgeous and remind me so much of Frozen but chocolate covered fruit is just to die for no matter what season it is. I’ve spend quite some time making all of this food but I think it turned out pretty great.
